By anyone's definition, Jared Leto is having one bang up week thus far. There's that whole Oscar thing, as well as the fact he appeared in arguably the greatest selfie in the history of ever. And now, the actor/director/musician is about to hit the road with his band 30 Seconds to Mars on a major tour along with Linkin Park and AFI.
The three alt-rock heavy hitters are joining forces for a 25-city nationwide late-summer/early-fall road swing dubbed the "Carnivores Tour" (which is a tad ironic, considering both Leto and Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington are both vegetarians) that will hit US Airways Center on September 10.
The band's held a press conference in Hollywood today to announce the tour and screened a suitably dramatic trailer. As its English sex kitten narrator states, it's the first time that all three bands have hit the road together.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bennington is having a good week of his own, especially after all the buzz that's cropped up in the last day or so after Linkin Park released a teaser of sorts of new music that they've been working on recently. The singer, who's been moonlighting with Stone Temple Pilots recently, mentioned the new jams that LP was brewing when we spoke to him last year.)
Oh, yeah, and then there's the whole thing about LP reportedly being the most listened-to act in Arizona, which means that tickets to the Carnivores Tour stop at the arena are likely to get scooped up quickly.
No on-sale date has been announced for tickets as of this writing but we'll definitely have all the details available on our online concert calendar when they are.
