Arizona Congressman Trent Franks -- best known for his fear of homosexuals, his belief that black people were better off under slavery, and tackling the non-existent problem of race/gender-based abortions -- has endorsed his Congressional colleague Michele Bachmann in the GOP presidential primary.

Additionally, Franks will serve as the Congressional co-chair for her campaign, Bachmann announced today.

"I know Michele is right on the issues that are important to conservatives across the country and I know she won't back off," Franks says in a statement released this morning.

Unlike Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's endorsement of Texas Governor Rick Perry, Franks' nod is anything but surprising -- he and Bachmann seem to see eye-to-eye on the (gulp) important stuff, like keeping gay people unwed and out of the military.

Bachmann, according to a recent Rasmussen poll, is at the bottom of the pack of the crowded field of GOP presidential wannabes. Nationally, she's currently polling at 4-percent, trailing even Herman Cain, whose campaign has been plagued with sex scandals.
