Senate hopeful J.D. Hayworth released his latest John-McCain-amnesty ad this morning, and he's pulled out the big guns to bash "The Maverick."

Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama, and, of course, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio each make a cameo in the ad.

Check it out after the jump.

Since playing the role of fiscal conservative didn't exactly pan out too well for Hayworth (with the whole pimping of "free government money," and all), Hayworth's heading back to familiar territory where he may actually be able to gain some ground: immigration.

In the past, McCain's been charged with being soft on immigration -- as made apparent in the ad. Recently, though, "The Maverick" has taken firmer ground on the immigration debate -- creating a 10-point plan for border security with fellow Arizona Senator Jon Kyl and teaming up with Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu to, um, get a better idea of the needs of law enforcement.

The McCain campaign -- as expected -- seems to view the ad as the latest of J.D.'s last-ditch efforts to sway voters.

"It's laughable for Congressman Hayworth to try and sell himself as the leader in the fight to secure our border just days after he viciously attacked Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, who is on the front lines of Arizona's battle against drug and human smuggling," McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers tells New Times. "How can Arizonans accept Hayworth as a border security hawk after he tried to smear Sheriff Babeu...that dog won't hunt."
