After the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office pulled off its 70th "employer sanctions operation" (which MCSO now refers to as a "criminal employment operation"), we pointed out yet again that no employers were arrested, or sanctioned, in the operation.
Arpaio now says that's probably a job for the Obama administration.

Earlier this week, we spotted in Arpaio's response to the Justice Department racial-discrimination lawsuit that the Sheriff claims no employer has ever been arrested or tied to any violations as a result of these operations.
Arpaio also denied the existence of MCSO "raids," although we found several examples of Arpaio claiming his deputies had just carried out "raids," including yesterday's "raid" of Lam's Asian and International Supermarket in Maryvale.
Although MCSO said detectives suspect 21 of the store's 27 employees are using fake IDs to work there, only nine were arrested. The rest ran, and are still on the run, according to an update from MCSO.
Not really groundbreaking stuff from MCSO, but there's a quote from Arpaio included in the press release that has an odor reminiscent of a Taco Bell bathroom.
"The federal government may want to look into expanding the guest worker program and streamlining the ability to get a visa," Arpaio's statement says. "Also the Obama administration should focus their efforts in detecting and arresting the employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens."
Gee, you'd think it would be the Sheriff's Office that may want to step it up after sanctioning zero employers after 70 "employer sanctions operations."
For good measure, here's the last line of the press release: "In the meanwhile, Arpaio will continue to enforce state and federal immigration laws."
