Vote Counts Could be Complete by Saturday, County Says; Still 37,000 Ballots Uncounted in Valley

News release from county just in:

2010 PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS

August 26, 2010, 4:25PM, Phoenix, AZ - Maricopa County Recorder, Helen Purcell, says every effort is being made to complete final counting for the August 24 Primary Election by Saturday, August 28, 2010. "We've tabulated 57,231 early ballots today. We continue to process the balance of the early ballots and the provisional ballots. We have approximately 25,000 early ballots and 12,000 provisionals," Purcell said.

The canvas of elections is slated for Friday, September 3, 2010. Please go to the County Recorder's website, www.recorder.maricopa.gov for updates.

Sounds like a second release will be coming out any moment now with updated vote counts.
