The pro-gun-control organization headed up by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, released a video ad featuring a plea from Giffords for Congress to act on gun-control proposals.

Giffords and Kelly announced the formation of Americans for Responsible Solutions last month, and announced their intentions to get Congress to pass some gun-control measures, as well as directly combat the NRA.

Now, the first ad is narrated by Giffords, who was shot in the head in the 2011 Tucson shooting in which six people were killed.

"We have a problem, where we shop, where we pray, where our children go to school, but there are solutions we can agree on -- even gun owners like us," Giffords says. "Take it from me, Congress must act. Let's get this done."

The "solutions" proposed by Giffords' and Kelly's organization are criminal background checks, limiting high-capacity magazines, limiting assault weapons, and stopping gun trafficking.

More details on their proposals can be found here.
