Despite the fact that several NBA teams have taken the chance on Michael Beasley, he still proves to be a complete doofus no matter where he goes.
Beasley, who was cut by the Phoenix Suns last month, is now a member of the Miami Heat (again), and spent a few seconds during the Heat's pre-season game yesterday punching himself in the face.
Joseph Goodman, the Heat beat-writer for the Miami Herald, said the video above "cuts away before he really gets going."
Beasley had to get medical attention after repeatedly delivering jabs to his own eye.
Goodman said that medical staff had to use one of the "steel compresses cut doctors use on boxers" to control the swelling.
As you may recall, Beasley's departure from Phoenix couldn't come soon enough.
His disappointing basketball-playing was probably the best thing he did in Phoenix.
A couple months ago, Beasley was arrested by Scottsdale police after officers found marijuana in Beasley's possession during a traffic stop.
This, after Beasley said when he signed with the Suns that he was "confident to say that part of my career, that part of my life, is over and won't be coming back," in reference to his pot-smoking.
Earlier this year, Beasley was arrested by Scottsdale PD for several traffic violations, including going 71 mph in a 45-mph zone, and not having a license plate.
Scottsdale police have been "investigating an allegation of sexual assault involving" Beasley, although no charges have materialized from that assault, which allegedly occurred in January.
Miami's the team that drafted Beasley with the second overall pick back in 2008, so they must have known what they were getting themselves into, but at least he's not the Suns' problem.
