The soap opera that is the LeBron James free-agency saga should have come to an end yesterday when King James announced his plans to sign with the Miami Heat but within hours of the uber-hyped announcement, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert threw some new fuel on the fire with some comments he made bashing LeBron.
Gilbert's comments have been met with a fairly overwhelming consensus from fans, athletes, and just about everyone who doesn't live in the "Scooby-Doo ghost-town" that Cleveland now resembles: the guy's a dick.
Leading the anti-Gilbert charge in Twitter-land is Arizona Cardinals' wide receiver, and renowned good-guy, Larry Fitzgerald.
In short, Gilbert said in an interview with the Associated Press that LeBron's decision to bail on the Cavs was a "cowardly betrayal" that ended a "narcissistic, self- promotional."
He even went so far as to leave a a message for Cavs fans on the team's Web site bashing LeBron and guaranteeing the Cavaliers would win an NBA Championship before James.

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"
Gilbert promised that "curse" on Cleveland sports would follow James to Miami.
"The self-declared former 'King' will be taking the 'curse' with him down south," Gilbert wrote. "And until he does 'right' by Cleveland and Ohio, James [and the town where he plays] will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma."
Gilbert finished the letter by promising to put his focus on bringing a championship to Cleveland with the Cavaliers.
"I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
"DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue...."
Fitzgerald responded to Gilbert's tantrum by posting the following "tweet" on his Twitter page this morning: "Im shocked the Cavs owner talked so bad about Bron.That owner profited so much 4 the years bron played in Cleveland & now he's the bad guy."
At the end of the day, Gilbert can try and cry Cleveland a river that doesn't catch on fire but the fact remains: LeBron -- the best player in the game -- is gone and he still owns a team that's never won a championship.
