Who is the quarterback? Do they have an offensive line? Is the defense as good (or better) than as advertised?
Ultimately, however, the biggest question is whether the Sun Devils can put together a winning record and make it back to a bowl game for the first time since the 2007 season.
So as camp commences, we're taking a look at who we see as the five best players on this Sun Devil team. Be sure to chime in with your thoughts as well.

Lawrence Guy - Defensive Tackle
While the linebacking corps gets a lot of credit for the success of ASU's defense, the man in the middle is the one who counts. Guy, a junior who earned Freshman All-American honors two years ago, has the potential to be a star at the NFL level. He led the Sun Devils in sacks (4.5) and quarterback hurries (3) last season, but his brightest days are ahead of him.
Vontaze Burfict - Linebacker
The most hyped player on defense, Burfict showed flashes of greatness last year as a true freshman. But he also committed a personal foul (or 10) that cost ASU in some key moments of some games. Burfict also has the potential for the pros, but he needs to keep the silly plays to minimum and keep on lighting people up.
Omar Bolden - Cornerback
Bolden made headlines as a high school senior when he spurned USC on television to pick the Sun Devils. And while he has made some plays, he also missed the majority of last season with a knee injury. A standout running back in high school, Bolden is just now coming into his own in the secondary. With two years of eligibility left, ASU fans are hoping Bolden provides shutdown coverage on his side of the field.
Thomas Weber - Kicker
It's not often that a kicker gets the publicity that Weber does. But when he's one of your best weapons on offense, you'll take what you can get. Weber, the 2007 Lou Groza Award winner (as the nation's best kicker), took a step back last season because of a nagging quad injury that never allowed him to be 100 percent. With numerous questions on the offensive side of the ball, Weber will be counted on to be consistent and accurate this year.
Brice Schwab - Offensive Lineman
Finally, a real offensive player makes the list, and even then it was tough to pick someone on this side of the ball. We're going with Schwab, a top recruit who turned down USC after two stellar years playing community college ball. ASU has been known for having a porous offensive line over the past few seasons. Look for Schwab to help change that perception.
