70. Kimchee Bokum Bap at Hodori
If you're looking for an adventurous dining experience, you can certainly find it at Hodori in Mesa. This longstanding restaurant keeps things pretty darn authentic, meaning diners can try Korean fare that hasn't been tamed for American palates. Never heard of a sea squirt? Well, you can try one here — and I promise you won't forget the experience.
For more reserved diners, there's plenty to enjoy. For example the kimchee bokum bap, a hot stone bowl filled with kimchee fried rice topped with ribeye beef and an egg. If you've never had fried rice served in a hot stone bowl you're in for a treat — mix the runny yolked-egg in with the pungent kimchee-kissed rice and the bowl's warm walls will cook the egg to make perfect fried rice. Best of all are the crisp pieces of rice you'll find at the bottom of your bowl. After sitting on top of the stone edges of the bowl, the rice forms a crisp outer layer that's even better than the prize at the bottom of a Cracker Jacks box.
