Authority Zero's Gear and Vehicle Stolen in San Antonio, Texas

Rick Perry, Ted Cruz, and now this. Local punks Authority Zero reported on Facebook that their van containing all their gear — and their only means of transportation — was stolen last night, stranding the band in San Antonio. 

The gear was in a white dual axle Lark trailer attached to a white Ford Econoline van. The band is asking anyone who is in the area to keep their eyes peeled. 

In the meantime, a fan, Rob Rover Rushing, has started a GoFundMe campaign to replace the stolen gear. The campaign aims to raise $20,000, and has already raised $2,000 in less than 12 hours. 

We've reached out to the band for comment and will update when we hear back.

No word yet on where the van was parked when it was stolen, nor on a comprehensive list of the missing items.

Sadly, stolen gear is a real hazard for touring vans. Bands often accumulate tens of thousands of dollars of equipment throughout their careers, and they're usually pretty obvious targets for scumbags looking to make a quick buck. While the biggest musicians, with their multiple semi trailers and dozens of crew members, don't have to worry about this sort of incident, everyone else who hits the road with a van and a trailer or even just a sedan, face a real danger of their livelihood being taken out from underneath them at any time.
