23. Super Colossal Shrimp Cocktail at Steak 44

A shrimp cocktail at Steak 44 in Phoenix costs $7. That sounds like a lot, and, okay, it is. But the shrimp at Steak 44 are also the biggest shrimp I've ever seen. And their appeal doesn't just start and end with size.

The crustaceans served at this restaurant aren't the kind of shrimp you can casually drag through some relish and pop into your mouth. No, these oversize sea creatures require at least a couple seconds of admiration before you delicately dip them into Steal 44's housemade cocktail sauce and then demolish them one bite at a time.

By the way, the menu says they come with "atomic horseradish," and the descriptor is no joke. The horseradish is sinus-clearing and burns in an almost masochistic way. It's actually a nice contrast to the shrimp, which are plump and sweet beyond expectation. With the tangy cocktail sauce, it's a great way to start your meal.
