Less than six months after we heralded the return of chef Peter DeRuvo to the kitchen at EVO in Scottsdale and just a few weeks after he and business partner Nick Neuman opened a second restaurant together in Tempe, the pair has parted ways.

Neither DeRuvo nor Neuman is commenting on the situation, but did release an official statement through the public relations and marketing agency that has been representing both restaurants:
As of last week, Chef Peter DeRuvo is no longer affiliated with EVO, and Nick Neuman is no longer affiliated with Citrine. Nick Neuman continues to operate EVO in Scottsdale and business is as usual with no planned changes to the menu or service at this time.

Citrine in Tempe will operate under new management alongside Chef Peter DeRuvo, and aims to re-open soon after a series of maintenance and upgrades are complete.
Prior to joining the team at EVO in Scottsdale, DeRuvo spent time working in Chicago. His most recent gig in the Valley was at the helm of the short-lived, but well-received Davanti Enoteca. Prior to opening that restaurant, DeRuvo worked at Prado, Sassi, and Cuoco Pazzo — a restaurant that used to be located in the Old Town Scottsdale space where EVO is now.
