It's been about a month since well-respected local mixologist Travis Nass left his post at The Last Drop bar at Lon's at the Hermosa Inn. Now, we know where he's taking his talents: Caskwerks, a Tempe-based craft distillery.
Nass, who was inducted into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame last year, has taken a role as "Spirit Guide and Marketing Director" and will work with the company's master distiller John Miller and team members Rick Burch and Chris Labelle to expand the availability of Caskwerks spirits throughout the state.
Right now, the company offers three products: gin, apple pie liqueur, and a soon-to-be released wheat whiskey, which can be found at restaurants and bars including Valley Bar, Virtu, FnB, Citizen Public House, Gertrude’s, Four Peaks Brewing Co., The House Brasserie, Bink’s Midtown, Barrio Urbano, and more.
Caskwerks also has additional products in the works, and the distillery hopes to add a tasting room to its Tempe location at a later date.
