It's been more than a year since we told you Kitchen Sink Studios in downtown Phoenix was working on a documentary short about one of Phoenix's most celebrated chefs, Chris Bianco. Well, the wait is finally over. The producers completed the 20-minute film a few months ago, and they're going to show it to the public this weekend as a part of the Devour Phoenix celebrations.

The film covers several months of the chef's life, during which he not only opens the Tucson location of Pizzeria Bianco, but also welcomes his daughter, Nina Rose, into the world and completes a renovation of his Phoenix home. It offers a look into the personal life of a man with whom most Valley residents are familiar, if only by name, giving new depth to James Beard Award-winning chef's story. We had a chance to check out the film for ourselves; it's beautifully shot and captures Bianco's personality perfectly.

On Friday, March 4, you'll be able see Chris Bianco: I Used to Say Never at 6:30 or 7:30 p.m. inside Whiteman Hall at the Phoenix Art Museum. Admission to Phoenix Art Museum is free on First Fridays, and there is no additional cost to see the film.
