Good news, health-minded Scottsdale residents. The sixth MAD Greens location in the Valley will open in North Scottsdale on Thursday, June 16. The restaurant's grand opening will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 14850 North Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
The new addition to the MAD Greens family will be similar to the rest, using fresh ingredients from local Arizona farmers such as Abby Lee Farms, Duncan Family Farms, Hickman Farms, and Shamrock Dairy. The restaurant also will open its doors at 7:00 a.m. daily, catering to those in search of a fresh juice or panini before work.
MAD Greens specializes in fresh juices, salads, soups, and sandwiches, but with the new location comes the addition of a kids' menu. The new items for children ages 12 and under include grilled citrus chicken, pasta, edamame, apples, and more.
MAD Greens opened its first restaurant in Colorado in 2004, when, according to the MAD Greens website, founders Marley Hodgson and Dan Long felt the need to address the absence of fresh food that was available for purchase in restaurants. MAD Greens currently operates 21 locations in total, spread across Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. The company plans to open at least seven more locations before 2017.
