The Clever Koi is teaming up with the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program tonight to host a one-night fundraising event. To help the organization support of young chefs, the Asian eatery will donate 10 percent of tonight's proceeds to C-CAP and will have information at the restaurant for guests who want to learn more about the program.

C-CAP has been around for more than 25 years, working to help at-risk high school students by exposing them to the culinary arts. The program has transformed students into qualified workers for the restaurant and hospitality industry, and this year alone C-CAP is working with more than 17,000 students and 253 teachers at 178 high schools by providing things such as job training and internships, culinary scholarships, teacher training, cooking competitions and product and equipment donations for culinary classrooms. C-CAP has granted more than $46 million in scholarships since starting up in 1990, and $533,000 just in 2015.

Clever Koi's own executive chef, Jared Porter, is an alumni of the program.

The Dine Out for C-CAP event will run from 5 p.m. to close at the Clever Koi, 4236 North Central Avenue. You can learn more about C-CAP by visiting the Careers Through Culinary Arts website.
