Fans of Carolina's Mexican Food know that the no-frills eatery with locations in downtown, north Phoenix, and Peoria is one of the Valley's best spots for homemade tortillas and spicy, red machaca. Now, we've got some good news for the restaurant's fans who live on the east side of town.

According to a post on the Carolina's Mexican Food North Phoenix Facebook page, Carolina's will open a fourth Valley location in Mesa. The new restaurant will be located at 1450 South Country Club Drive, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Country Club Drive and the US 60.

The restaurant is expected to open "late this fall or early next year," according to the post.

Carolina's was founded in the 1950s by husband and wife Manuel and Carolina Valenzuela, and has since grown into something of a local landmark, known best for its homemade tortillas, oversized burritos, and homestyle tamales. The original location, found at 1202 East Mohave Road, was joined by a second location in north Phoenix in 1986. The third restaurant is located at 9030 West Peoria Road.
