More than just the first three-day weekend of the summer, Memorial Day is a time to honor the men and women of the United States military for their service. Several restaurants around town are showing their appreciation with discounted and free meals on the May 29. Here are five to check out.

25 Percent Off at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row

In addition to donating $10,000 to local nonprofit Heal the Hero, Dierks is offering active military, veterans, police officers, and firemen 25 percent off their bill during Memorial Day weekend, from Friday, May 26 through Monday, May 29. (This discount is available to active and retired military year-round)

Veterans and active-duty military will receive a free meal with the purchase of one beverage at the Tempe location of the Tilted Kilt. Just show military ID.

Two-for-One Buffet Lunch at Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort

Veterans and active-duty military can take advantage of two-for-one lunches at Casino Arizona’s Eagles Buffet or Talking Stick Resort’s Wandering Horse Buffet. Just show your military ID card and Player Reward’s Club Card to the Player Rewards Club Desk to receive the voucher for either buffet.

Free Meal at Twin Peaks

Veterans and active military can select a free meal from a menu of five items, including beer-battered chicken tenders, Philly cheesesteak, classic cheeseburger, the chicken ranch sandwich, and a buffalo chicken salad with the presentation of a military ID card.
