Hola Cabrito

Hola Cabrito is a south Phoenix birria joint that specializes in the traditional Mexican goat stew. Birria can sometimes be spicy, but here it’s mellow, earthy, and deeply flavorful. You can enjoy it served in a soup bowl with consommé, a dark, clarified broth that’s deep, rich and savory. Another standard order is the half-pound of birria meat, served sans consommé, which features the softly shredded, lightly spiced goat meat heaped on a white ceramic platter, and served with all the trimmings, including freshly-made corn tortillas, chopped white onion, salsa, cilantro, and lime wedges. On the weekend, the kitchen makes a good bowl of menudo, and there’s also a short menu of tacos, which are always available.
