Kiss Pollos Estilo Sinaloa is located inside a tiny brick storefront on a quiet residential street in south-central Phoenix, an unassuming spot that just happens to be dishing out some of the juiciest pollo asado, or charcoal grilled chicken, around town. Sure, grilled chicken may not seem particularly exciting, but it achieves its full smoky, flavor-rich appeal here, thanks to careful preparation and a Sinaloa-style marinade featuring red chile and a host of secret spices. The ultra-moist chicken is served in tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, and burritos. Other specialties include a good pork-and- potato taco, and occasionally the kitchen offers grilled chicken wings served with a house made cilantro crema. One of the perennial menu favorites is the small yet excellent “Dollar Chicken Taco,” designed to satiate eaters on the tightest of budgets.
