Tony's Italian Delicatessen

For a real old-school deli, there’s nowhere in town like Tony’s Italian Delicatessen, which has been thriving in Sunnyslope since the late ’70s. The shelves of this family-owned store are crammed full of the finest imported ingredients – pastas, sauces, cheeses, and seasonings – making it the ideal one-stop shop for Italian home cooks. There’s even a section dedicated to imported chocolates. And of course Tony’s stocks delectable meats, including cured cold cuts like pancetta and prosciutto as well as homemade sausages. Even if you don’t need groceries, stop by at lunchtime for an Italian sub or pastrami sandwich loaded with fresh veggies and served on soft bread. And it’ll set you back less than a trip to chains like Subway or Quizno’s. The full-service deli also serves hot pasta dishes to order, including ravioli and spaghetti, and offers desserts like freshly made cannolis. Some of the best in town, the standard size crunchy creamy cannoli is surprisingly less than $2.50.
