Arty Girl: Call for Entries, Mutant Pinata Show

The Mutant Piñata Show from last year.

As much as I get overwhelmed by art on a weekly basis, I never have the urge to pick up a bat and beat the ever living hell out of it.

Wait. Change "never" to "rarely". We all have our bad days, right?

But when I saw the Mutant Piñata Show at Bragg's Pie Factory last Spring, I certainly didn't want to smash anything. The show was a delight, featuring a ton of local artists who took piñata creations to a whole new level, creating a whimsical and lively art show.

It's all set to happen again this year and I can't wait to see what turns up.

If you're interested in entering a piece, go for it. Really, it's an easy process. Just have your piñata ready to deliver by March 1st to 1301 Grand Avenue between Noon and 4pm with the following information:

Name of artist(s)
Group (if applicable)
Contact number
E-mail address
Name of piñata

The show will be up for March and April of 2009.

Good luck and I promise I won't whack yours when I see it.
