Dip Thursdays @ Spanish Fly

It may not feel like it right now, what with all the brain-bending and skin-scalding heat, but we're actually more than halfway through with summer. It means that not only is there only a certain number of weeks left until temperatures start to chillax (we're guessing around early October), but also that there's a limited number of weekends left to attend a swagged-out swimming party in the Valley. One such waterwing wingding is Dip Thursdays at Spanish Fly, 4341 North 75th Street in Scottsdale. Each week, a cadre of guest DJs reigns over the record decks at the Old Town pool joint, showering house music sounds on the bikini-clad crowd while special summertime activities take place. To wit: The trio of local house-head (and Zuma Grill resident) Daniel Gauss, electro enthusiast Mark "Pilots" Krause, and Orange County's DJ Dangerhouse will visit on Thursday, August 16, while beach volleyball games take place. Hope the killer drops don't spoil your spikes. Drink specials include $3 domestic drafts and Fireball shots available until 11 p.m. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free before 11:30 p.m. Call 480-949-8454 or see www.facebook.com/nytehypeaz.
