Call us crazy, but it seems some DJs or EDM artists are so prodigiously talented that their skill set may have been born of some supernatural power, like maybe even The Force. It seems a fitting — if not slightly geeky — explanation as any for the keen abilities wielded by Brazilian electro duo Darth & Vader. Like the Dark Lord of Star Wars lore, the Rio-based twosome are adept at creating chaos (albeit on the dance floor instead of blowing up planets) with their innate talents, which in their case means movement-inducing dirty electro tracks. Darth & Vader, who have also been known to remix the "Imperial March" from The Empire Strikes Back on occasion, will be coming to our corner of the galaxy on Friday, April 6, when they co-headline the Hypnotica Music Festival along with Hungary progressive trance producers Mÿon and Shane 54, SoCal experimental dub artist Druley, London's Michael Woods, and a slew of local talent. Doors open at 7 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $25. Call 480-688-3607 on the day of the event for location info or visit www.hypnoticamusicfestival.com
