As we detailed in our cover story on the Phoenix rapper earlier this year, the hip-hop world is Futuristic's for the taking. 2014 and 2015 have seen huge moves forward for Futuristic (including, sadly, a physical move from Phoenix to Los Angeles), and he's had hit after hit garner millions of listens on social media.
One thing that has evaded him so far, though, is national radio play. That changed when he did a feature on A Great Big World's song "Hold Each Other," which has seen steady radio play on alternative radio stations across the country, no doubt buoyed by the group's recent Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
The song is about as lovey-dovey as you'll get in today's modern pop environment. Singers Ian Axel and Chad King trade verses about holding a true love, and Futuristic finishes it off with a heartfelt verse about his sweetheart, including the line "when I look at you / it's like I'm looking back at my reflection."
