Save Jules Benefit @ Yucca Tap Room

Adam Dumper admits he'd "do practically anything and everything" to help a friend in need. This ain't no empty boast, as the artist known as Dumperfoo has been busy moving Heaven and Earth to gear up for a special edition of The Blunt Club that aims to raise money for ailing pal and fellow painter Jules Demetrius. Dumper and many of Demetrius' other friends are hoping that the Save Jules benefit on Thursday, April 4, at the Yucca Tap Room, 29 West Southern Avenue in Tempe, will generate enough to make a dent in the more than $180,000 in medical bills he's accrued since seeking treatment for colon cancer. They'll raffle off a cache of work from prominent local artists like Koleszar, Disposable Hero, Mark Matlock, and Baron Gordon, as well as Jurrasic 5 CDs and shwag signed by Cut Chemist and a rare Shepard Fairey-created poster for DJ documentary Scratch. Djentrification and DJ Organic on the decks will join L.A. hip-hop guru DJ Wise during the event, which starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Call 480-967-4777.
