The Main Street EDM Takeover @ Smiley's Smokeshop

Although all the world may (or may not) be a stage — depending on whether you buy into that old Shakespearean aphorism — the streets of Mesa definitely will become a dance floor this weekend when a cabal of local DJs invades the sleepy suburb's downtown to stage a ginormous party. A 20,000-watt sound system will blare dance tracks music outside Smiley's Smokeshop, 1 South Morris Street in Mesa, on Friday, January 6, as hundreds are expected to bump their rumps during The Main Street EDM Takeover. Headliners Eddy NRG and T.A.I. will provide dirty Dutch house and a mix of dub and electro, respectively, while Damien Helzcoming, Uncle Ruckus, Cee-Li, and Mr. Vegas are scheduled to perform throughout the evening. Here's hoping the cops don't shut the party down. The music runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Admission is free. Call 480-343-5633.
