Although Barrett-Jackson wasn't the only auto auction going down around Scottsdale this weekend, it certainly got the most attention and had the most interesting mix of vehicles up for auction.
Though no car fetched $4.6 million (as the original Batmobile did last year at the auction), several were sold for millions. Check out the 10 most expensive cars sold at Barrett-Jackson this weekend:
10.) 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Copo: $700,000
This is one of 69 special race Camaros sold for charity. There were two other auction lots that sold for more, but one included two Corvettes, and the other included a military truck and an airplane.
9.) 1991 Ferrari F40: $742,500
This F40 was customized by the Fast N' Loud Gas Monkey Garage. It took in the vehicle after it was in a minor crash and rebuilt it "better, straighter, lighter, and faster than a stock F40."
8.) 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88: $880,000
One of 80 such vehicles, this one has fewer than 14,000 miles.
7.) 2008 Bugatti Veyron: $1.375 million
The selling point to this (other than being a Bugatti Veyron) was that it used to be owned by Simon Cowell.
6.) 1929 Duesenberg SJ LeBaron Dual Cowl Phaeton: $1.43 million
A real Duesy!
5.) 1963 Shelby Cooper Monaco King Cobra: $1.65 million
The only surviving car of this kind, it was raced in the U.S. Road Racing Championship. Not street legal.
4.) 1998 Ferarri F300: $1.87 million
As you can imagine, this one isn't street legal, either, but it was driven by Michael Schumacher in the late '90s. It reminds us of Schumacher's cameo in Cars.
3.) 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing: $2.09 million
The selling price was a bit higher than one sold at the auction last year, although last year's -- also a silver '55 gullwing -- was owned by Clark Gable.
2.) 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Rebel Race Car: $2.86 Million
One of four such L88s that competed in several American endurance races in the early '70s.
1.) 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88: $3.85 million
Just 20 of these Corvettes were built, and this is the only one with a red-on-red color scheme. According to Barrett-Jackson, such Corvettes have been dyno-tested at 560 horsepower.
