Just because Arizona's major sports teams haven't made postseason runs this year doesn't mean their weren't some amazing moments.
Between the Diamondbacks, Suns, Coyotes, Cardinals, and ASU, we have the top 10 moments in Arizona sports this year:
10.) April 3: Diamondbacks Walk Off in Longest Game in Chase Field History
In the Diamondbacks' third game of the season, against the St. Louis Cardinals, shortstop Cliff Pennington slapped the walk-off single into the outfield, a little after midnight -- 5 1/2 hours after the first pitch was thrown.
9.) May 7: Suns Hire Ryan McDonough
The Suns were nothing short of pathetic last year, and all signs pointed to another year of misery this year, even under new General Manager Ryan McDonough. McDonough got rid of most of the names on the Suns you've heard of -- Marcin Gortat, Jared Dudley, Luis Scola, and Caron Butler -- as it looked like they were really working hard to tank for that lottery pick. Not so fast. Not only are the Suns very well-positioned for the future, but their record is above .500 going in to tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
8.) October 3: Radim Vrbata Opens the Season With a Hat Trick
The first look at the Coyotes this season was a good look. Facing off against the New York Rangers, Coyotes forward Radim Vrbata scored a hat trick, with three good goals against Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.
7.) April 26: Cardinals Draft Tyrann Mathieu
Yeah, this Honey Badger thing is gonna work out, despite his injury on Sunday.
6.) October 19: Marion Grice's TD Catch Against Washington
ASU's Marion Grice was a touchdown machine this year, before he injured his leg a few weeks ago. In real speed, this doesn't look like a catch in any way, shape, or form. Upon further review, it's an awesome catch.
5.) August 12: Adam Eaton Blacks Out, Walks Off
In his first homer of the season, center fielder Adam Eaton hit a walk-off homer into the pool at Chase Field. He would later explain that he "blacked out" before he hit the ball, so he couldn't really explain what he saw.
4.) August 13: Paul Goldschmidt Homers to Tie, Then Homers to Walk Off
The day after Eaton's walk-off into the pool, Goldschmidt tied a game in the bottom of the ninth with a solo home run. His next at-bat was in the 11th inning, when he hit another solo home run -- that one to win it.
3.) August 14: Aaron Hill Walk-Off Makes It Three in a Row
Another day, another walk-off win for the Diamondbacks.
2.) November 24: Larry Fitzgerald Becomes the Youngest Player to 11,000 Yards
Even with one of the greatest athletes to ever play in Arizona, it's always about the silver linings with the Cardinals, isn't it? This season, Fitzgerald, became the youngest NFL player ever to reach 11,000 yards receiving -- a reminder that we've been lucky enough to watch Fitzgerald's entire hall-of-fame career.
1.) November 23: ASU Beats UCLA
This was the biggest win for ASU in years, and made the Sun Devils PAC-12 South champions for the first time.
