5.) Four Arizona Lawmakers Likely Bounced From Legislature in Primary Election
Four Arizona lawmakers appear to have lost their primary races.Three Democrats and one Republican are losing races in which all or nearly all of the voting precincts have reported their results, and each lawmaker facing a loss is doing so under different circumstances.

4.) Arizona Primary Recap: Doug Ducey In, Tom Horne and John Huppenthal Out
State Treasurer Doug Ducey cruised to an easy win Tuesday night for the Republican nomination for Arizona governor and will take on Democrat Fred DuVal in November.The results were not so good for another pair of Republicans in state government -- scandal-plagued Attorney General Tom Horne lost his primary to former Arizona Department of Gaming director Mark Brnovich. John Huppenthal, the state's Superintendent of Public Instruction who was caught up in a scandal of his own this year, lost big to primary challenger Diane Douglas.

2.) ASU Semester Starts Off With 392 Arrests by Tempe Police Task Force
A police task force in Tempe focused on alcohol-related crimes made 392 arrests over the weekend, which was the first weekend since the fall semester started at Arizona State University.This is the second year that the Tempe Police Department has organized its "Safe and Sober" campaign at the start of ASU's fall semester. Over a stretch of three weekends last year, more than 1,300 people were arrested.
The 392 arrests over the weekend was an increase over the same weekend last year, which ended with 371 arrests.
"We have more agencies -- quite a few more agencies -- participating this year," Tempe Police Lieutenant Mike Pooley tells New Times.
