Electronic dance music fans won’t be heading to Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale to shake their moneymakers anytime soon; the hotel has postponed its Release Pool Party series until next summer.

A recent notice on the Release website announced the parties, which typically take place on weekends from April through September, will return in 2022.

The pool party series has been hosted by Talking Stick annually since 2014 – and typically headlined by high-profile DJs and EDM artists like Skrillex, Diplo, and Hardwell – but were canceled last summer because of the pandemic.

Earlier this year, Talking Stick Resort announced they were postponing the start of the 2021 parties until July due to the pandemic. A statement emailed to Phoenix New Times by the resort said they ultimately decided to call off the series for the entire summer after being unable to secure DJs to perform.

“Talking Stick Resort prides itself on bringing a high caliber of celebrity DJ to Release. With the late start as a result of the pandemic, many of the DJs in which we were interested are unfortunately unavailable. Thus, we decided to resume in 2022.”

Talking Stick Resort is planning to resume hosting concerts next month with performances by King Crimson on Saturday, August 7, and Cheap Trick on Saturday, August 14.
