Remember Quentin Tarantino's sensational revenge flick Kill Bill Vol. 1, particularly when the Texas Rangers happened upon the gory, blood-splattered aftermath of a slaughtered wedding party? That's probably what you'll see near the end of Bloodfest 2: A Wedding Massacre on Friday, October 13. This red-drenched rave will feature a rogue's gallery of insidious-sounding turntablists like Dr. Gonzo, Mind Detergent, Sinabyte, Projekt 23, and Bacteria. These spinsters will offer "insane theatrical DJ performances," as ravers who dare enter the "Blood Red Zone" in front of the center stage will be sprayed with a crimson concoction of fake blood. If that isn't bizarre enough, local DJ Matt Dunn will "die" during his set and then transform into his alter ego, Dr. MD. Headliner and "West Coast Hardcore Pervert" Ron D. Core will spin said genre while couples can get married at the exsanguination celebration, either for real or for fun. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume, with white clothing, wedding attire, health-care duds, and zombie gear particularly recommended. Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission costs $10 before 10:30 p.m., $15 after. Call 480-232-2962 the night of the event for its location.
