The Paper Chase

Sun 11/16
It's all run and games this Sunday, November 16, when the 28th annual New Times 10K takes over Steele Indian School Park, 300 East Indian School. Bad news for Sunday sloths: The event's exhaustive options eclipse any excuse to sit it out.Not up for a 5 or 10K run? Consider a little walk and roll: Hit the street for a 5K walk, 10K inline skate or 10K wheelchair race. A 400-yard kids' dash and 5K stroller stroll let little ones make a run for it, and everybody is encouraged to come in costume for a chance to score prizes (and to conceal the fact that they're sucking big air). Participant perks include a post-race picnic, free body massages, and live music by Danny Rhodes and the Messengers.

A portion of the proceeds benefits Phoenix Children's Hospital. Race-day registration, $25, runs from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Call the 10K hot line at 602-744-6531 or see Jill Koch
