After spending years in the studio and onstage with some of rock's biggest names, The Section Quartet is out to see just how far novelty can take them by hitting the road in support of their debut album, Fuzzbox. Released earlier this year, Fuzzbox features this traditional string quartet performing classical interpretations of songs by rock artists like Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Radiohead, The Strokes, and Soundgarden. Originally formed to provide backing for rock musicians, The Section Quartet played alongside prominent acts like the Foo Fighters, Kanye West, and David Bowie before deciding to play their own versions of rock songs, blurring the line between classical music and rock 'n' roll. The group's West Coast tour will feature not only selections from Fuzzbox, but a classical performance of Radiohead's OK Computer in its entirety. The band promises that their shows won't be a somber affair — their spins on the songs rock just as hard and loud as the original versions, while revealing the tender melodies and depth sometimes lost in the blare of electric guitars.
