It's probably a safe bet that you've never encountered a turntablist as flamboyant as DJ Keoki. Just look at the dude's ultra-colorful past: A veteran of NYC's infamous "Club Kids" scene of the early '90s (which inspired the 2003 film Party Monster), the self-described "superstar" rose to fame working such legendary establishments as the Limelight and Danceteria. Covered in tattoos and occasionally clad in makeup during his sets, Keoki has since sold more than a million albums, starred in a few EDM documentaries, and toured clubs around the world. His latest gig will be headlining the equally colorful Wow The Party on Friday, May 7, at Martini Ranch, 7295 East Stetson Drive in Scottsdale. This frenetic fete will also feature a psychedelic selection of spinsters, including Orange County dubstep duo Juggernaut, Chi-Town electronica artist Alex Zelenka, and Texas noise terrorist Chaos. Locals Repeat Repeat, Kid Turnswell, Noiz.Fkr, and the RocknRollDancePatrol are also scheduled to perform. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $25 pre-sale, $40 at the door. See www.wowtheparty.com.
