Ride and Seek

“When I moved here 12 years ago, I got called a biker -- and that was a bad thing,” says Mark Bradshaw, owner of The Hideaway Grill and this year’s winner of the Arizona Bike Week hero award. “Now the scene’s changed. More people are riding, from shovelheads to RUBs (rich urban bikers). It’s nothin’ like it used to be. It’s better.”

Arizona Bike Week doesn’t officially start until Wednesday but the pre-rally begins at the Hideaway with Bike Week Warm-Up. Bikers can grab grub, relax at the bar, and then take a ride with Bradshaw to the annual Hacienda Harley Davidson Kick Start Party. The rest of the week sports tattoo and pin-up girl contests, shop tours, meet-and-greets with custom creators, and concerts by Jackyl and The Marshall Tucker Band. “It’s kind of like having a huge house party,” says Bradshaw. “I’ve already got the Canadians parked in my backyard.”

Ride on, brother.
