It’s that time of year again, like it or not. Flip-flops are out in full force, tank tops are trumping turtlenecks, and carnivorous culinarians are unleashing their “I’m Grillin’ So Everyone’s Chillin’” aprons. Sounds like the perfect time to crack open a cold one, fire up the flames, and stage a good ol’ fashioned cookout, much like the folks at the Great American BBQ and Beer Festival will be doing on Saturday, March 26.

Twenty of the Valley finest barbecue joints -- including The Hungry Monk, Honey Bear's, Hammered Hawg, and Screaming Eagle -- will stir up some sizzle and fill the air at A.J. Chandler Park, 3 South Arizona Avenue in Chandler, with tantalizing aromas of hickory smoke and charred meat.

You’ll likely need something to wash down all of the ‘cue, so a bevy of locally brewed beers will also be available. SoCal ska-punk superstars Reel Big Fish and other bands will provide the soundtrack.
