It’s pretty lame that the music and film industries have hijacked the word “pirate” to wag fingers. There’s no way that nabbing a Game of Thrones torrent compares to actual high seas adventures with a wily crew of scalawags. The DREAD Fleet, Phoenix’s collective of fun-loving swashbucklers, clues us in with their fourth annual Pirate Mud Wrestling extravaganza.

The landlubber-loathing ladies of the DREAD Fleet will sling mud against local roller derby scoundrels outside Revolver Records, 918 North Second Street. Rock rippers Chaos Playground and the Mischief Makers are the soundtrack for the dirty grappling while belly dance troupe Bint Hazine classes up the halftime festivities. Food and drink specials at Carly’s Bistro across the street await raging revelers, too.
