Buying tickets to watch a sports team is, essentially, gambling with your happiness. It pays off if the team you’re rooting for wins. If they lose, then you just paid money to watch something that left you disappointed and perhaps (depending on your level of fanaticism) depressed. If you’re looking to make a safe bet, consider Friday’s matchup between the Phoenix Mercury and the Tulsa Shock at US Airways Center, 201 East Jefferson Street.

The Shock has been the WNBA’s version of the Washington Generals since moving to Tulsa and has managed to beat the Mercury just twice in the last 16 games between the teams. This year’s Shock team does not look destined to break that trend—the team jumped out to a 1-5 start — so Friday’s match figures to be a walk in the park for the Merc.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. June 20. Tickets start at $12 via www.ticketmaster.com or 602-252-9622.
