The 40th anniversary may mean ruby for the married folk, but for old town Scottsdale it means canvas, ceramics, photographs, and, well, you get the idea. For two score, as Lincoln might put it, Scottsdale’s historic downtown has been hosting its free community artwalk, and this fall it’s looking to celebrate.

Featured galleries in this celebratory affair include Bonner David, Xanadu Gallery, On The Edge, Wilde Meyer Annex, Wilde Meyer Gallery, Scottsdale Fine Art, and Touchstone Gallery. Musical performances, including the marching band from Coronado High School, as well as artist demos and street-side artworks by local students will also be on site for the special event. The Anniversary Artwalk kicks off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, with a dedication at 7058 East Main Street. The artwalk will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
