The group behind American TapHouse in Gilbert has brought craft beer to Scottsdale with a second concept, TapHouse Kitchen. The restaurant opened a few weeks ago in the Hilton Village Center at 6137 North Scottsdale Road, in a space formerly occupied by Blue Wasabi.

TapHouse Kitchen offers a menu modern American cuisine, in addition to a respectable selection of craft beers. The tap lineup includes local options from Grand Canyon, Four Peaks, and Papago Brewery.

Chef Patrick Karvis is at the helm, whose resume highlights include Wright's at the Arizona Biltmore, Lon's at the Hermosa Inn, and Eddie's Grill.

Karvis has created a modern American menu for the new restaurant that includes dishes such as Lamb Pops with jalapeno mint jam, Ham and Brie sandwich with black forest ham, watercress, Brie, basil, and whole grain mustard sauce; and Chicken and Dumplings that features braised carrots, sugar snap peas, roasted corn, and white wine mustard sauce.

What might be more interesting is that there's both a beer and wine pairing listed with every dish on the menu.

There are a total of 20 craft beers on tap at TapHouse Kitchen, with just under half coming from local breweries. There are an additional 10 brews available by the bottle, including Lumberyard Brewing Co.'s Knotty Pine and Oak Creek Brewery's Nut Brown Ale.

The restaurant also offers four different beer flights, each of which feature four 4 oz. pours of beers. They include the Arizona Hwy flight that lets you taste four local beers: SanTan Devil's Ale, Four Peaks Kilt Lifter, Grand Canyon American Pilsner, and Papago Coconut Joe. You can also create your own four-beer flight.

TapHouse Kitchen has happy hour seven days a week from 3 to 6 p.m. Specials include $2 off all taps (beer and wine), $2 off all house wine, $1 off well drinks, and $1 off all TapHouse cocktails. On the food side there's a selection of $6 small plates that includes Shrimp Mac n' Cheese, THK Wings, Mini Mushroom Grilled Cheese, and four different flatbreads.

You can view the complete menu on the TapHouse Kitchen website.

Tasty Brand Holdings, which owns TapHouse Kitchen and American TapHouse, is a Scottsdale-based restaurant management company. Their other restaurants include Pinnacle Peak Patio, Zinc Bistro, and Sand Bar.
