Looks like Sweet Republic, the artisan ice cream haven in Scottsdale, has caught the attention of the national media -- and it hasn't been the first time.
Prior to celebrating their third birthday last month, Jan Wichayanuparp and Helen Yung's cool labor of love was listed as one of the top ten ice cream shops in the U.S.A. by Bon Appétit magazine and featured on The Best Food Ever on TLC.
Now, it seems as if Sweet Republic's toffee banofi sundae has caught the attention of Alton Brown of The Best Thing I Ever Ate, the show of favorite eats from food stars and chefs on the Food Network.
Get the sweet details after the jump.
Inspired by the traditional English dessert, banoffee pie, Sweet Republic's toffee banofi sundae features two scoops of Madagascar vanilla ice cream, slices of ripe banana, hand-stirred caramel sauce, fresh whipped cream, another light drizzle of caramel, and a sprinkling of almond toffee.
Both Wichayanuparp and Yung have traveled to the UK and Yung lived in London for two years during her previous stint as an investment banker with Citigroup.
Sweet Republic's newest television appearance will be this Friday, July 22, on Food Network's, The Best Thing I Ever Ate. The episode, called "Ice Creamy" will focus on most-loved cool treats from food stars and chefs. Check your cable guide for air times.
