Another year, another crapload of new menu items from Taco Bell. First up, the Beefy Crunch Burrito.
Touted as "layers of seasoned ground beef, rice, warm nacho cheese sauce, reduced-fat sour cream [hahaha!] and Flamin' Hot Fritos wrapped in a warm, flour tortilla," the Beefy Crunch Burrito, or BCB, is eatable with one hand, comes in a wrapper simply marked "Featured Item," and costs a crazy-cheap 99 cents.
Is Taco Bell's Beefy Crunch Burrito a bomb or a bust? Let's take a bite and find out.
Holy Flamin' Hot Fritos! This baby's got some bite -- which is more than I can say for most Taco Bell fare, which must be doused in several hot sauce packets to make an impact. The Fritos inside the Beefy Crunch Burrito not only provide the spice, they provide a nice crunch along with the typical mixture of ingredients we've come to expect from Taco Bell.
Get to mackin' on the BCB before the Fritos start to loose their crunch, or it's the express train to Soggyville for you.
Would Fry Girl Order It Again?
You bet I would. Cheap, spicy, crunchy -- thanks to the Fritos, Taco Bell's Beefy Crunch Burrito is better than the original. And while, like most fast-food fare, the law of diminishing returns applies, two of these babies shouldn't be a problem.
What about you,Taco Bell-ites? Anyone else tried the Beefy Crunch Burrito? What did you think?
