Why am I so curious about new RnR, opening on March 11?
Country-fried chicken and waffle sliders. Need I say more?
Probably not, but there will also be Philly cheesesteak sliders, chicken and schnitzel, mini corndogs on a stick, gourmet burgers, and other sharable plates. For breakfast, I'm eyeing up the raspberry and cream cheese-stuffed pancake, which supposedly is three inches high. My goodness.
Owners Diane and Les Corieri, who also own Sandbar Mexican Grill and nightclubs Axis/Radius, Myst, and Suede, recruited chef Bryan Ogden -- son of chef Bradley Ogden -- to develop a comfort food menu that will cater to the breakfast crowd, the late-night crowd, and anyone in between. That helps explain the restaurant name, which could stand for "rock 'n roll" or "rest and relaxation," depending on what you're in the mood for.
Mike Bouwens, formerly of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, is the executive chef, and Matt Carvalho, formerly of Mastro's Ocean Club, is executive sous chef.
On the beverage end, there will be smoothies, coffee, and a full bar. They plan to host winemaker dinners at an 18-seat community table. There are also two patios and two levels of seating for 188 people.
RnR will be open daily, from 6:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, if you're seated by 2 a.m., the kitchen will serve you until 4 a.m. Does anyone else in town offer such late-late-night dining? I think this will top the list.
