New Restaurants in the Works for Arcadia's La Grande Orange

Since notable sweets maker Tammie Coe pulled her pastries out of La Grande Orange (LGO) last August, news of the popular grocery and pizzeria in Arcadia (which since has expanded its in-house pastry department) has been whisper-quiet.

Perhaps because it has a couple of secrets under way.

The first has to do with the Arcadia Room at LGO, the event venue formerly known as Radio Milano across the street. The second concerns the northwest corner of Campbell and 40th Street. Also across from LGO, the lot currently is used for parking.

An LGO Hospitality representative tells me the company has plans to turn the Arcadia Room into a restaurant again, but because it is continuing to host events throughout the spring, there are little details as to what the new concept might be.

Even more mysterious is the corner lot. Although the LGO Hospitality representative says it's a "top secret" project for now, a source tells me it will be a burger stand that LGO plans to open by the end of the year.

For fans of the popular pizzeria, cafe, and gift shop, news of LGO's new concepts -- secret though they may be -- means more dining options to choose from (along with the neighboring Postino Winecafe) in the near future. But the biggest question might be, "Where is everyone going to park?"

Stay tuned for details.
