Doesn't a hearty brunch just seem like something a Southwestern restaurant should just own?

Apparently chef Robert McGrath -- being the Valley's foremost authority on Southwestern flavors, thanks to that James Beard Award -- agrees, and has just added brunch service to the offerings at Renegade Canteen. Cow pokes and foodniks alike are sighing with happiness.

Available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, the brunch includes some distinctive (and likely hangover-soothing) dishes I'd like to try -- like "breakfast barbecue," pork belly 'n grits, and quiche of duck confit. There's also a list of "liquid lunch" a.m. cocktails, and live music performances will start at 11 a.m. each day.
