After two years, we (okay, mostly me) have decided to put Eater's Digest to bed and greet you each morning with a mix of fun events, odd ball food stories, things I have baked, awesome places I've eaten, crappy places I've eaten, and, well, pretty much whatever I feel like tellin' you about that day.

Just in case you haven't been keeping up with your Girl Scout History, the little girls in green are turning 100 year old this year. What are their big centennial b-days plans? Well, for starters they have a new cookie.

Cookie sales have already officially begun (I know a couple of Brownies if you need a hook-up) and the Girl Scouts have announced their brand new cookie, the Savannah Smiles.
The S.S. cookies are, according to the Girl Scouts website, " bite-sized, lemon-wedge cookies dusted in powdered sugar and bursting with lemon flavor" -- an interesting choice considering the Lemon Chalet debacle of 2010 (a whole bunch of the lemon creams were recalled due to an "off" smell).
Oh well, we love lemon cookies so we'll happily leave the past in the past. We're just happy to have lemon anything on a cookie menu.
The Savannah Smiles earned their not-so-cookie like name from Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low's hometown, Savannah, Georgia.
