You might want to quelch your hunger before you head to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa--they've got the self-proclaimed "largest gingerbread village in the Valley" on display, and the confection is a mouthwatering structure smothered in frosting, chocolate and gumdrops.

To create the masterpiece, the resort used 500 pounds of gingerbread dough, 120 pounds of dark and white chocolate and 150 pounds of candy and gumdrops. That sure would make a sweet Christmas gift!

It took over 400 hours to build the gingerbread house, which was created by the JW Marriott's executive pastry chef Kaushik Chowdhury and his team. They're no novices--this summer, they won the 2009 National Pastry Chef Championship.

The public may view the decadent dessert through January 3. It's part of the "Holidays Around the World" gingerbread village, where children may also write letters to Santa.
