In June, the 16-year-old Scottsdale dance club Axis-Radius closed its doors for good, at which time Evening Entertainment Group announced it had plans to turn the space into a concert venue and dining spot. Now we know what those plans are.

The food and drink side of the new operation, expected to open on Wednesday, January 29, will be called Bottled Blonde Pizzeria + Beer Garden and will feature 9,000 square feet of mostly al fresco dining space. The adjacent concert venue, Livewire, is expected to open by September.

Bottled Blonde's design will aim to emulate an East Coast brewery with features such as a large outdoor bar and casual, picnic-style community seating. The bike-friendly restaurant will be open for lunch with a menu of modern Italian gourmet pizza, salads, artisan sandwiches, and "the Valley's finest selection of craft beer."

The restaurant will be open at 3 p.m. on weekdays and will serve lunch and brunch on weekends. Chef Steven Fowler's menu will feature dishes such as Caprese Mac & Cheese with housemade mozzarella creme and marinated tomato relish; "Blonde Bolo" Fettucini with white meat sauce, Parmigiano, and thyme oil; and brunch-only dishes like Cassouleta with oven baked potatoes, finocchiona, pomodoro, Tuscan kale, and soft egg.

Next-door Livewire will offer an indoor two-story live performance and concert venue. The 14,000-square-foot venue will feature a sleek design with features such as a built-in stage, artist green room, VIP lounge seating, multi-level bar concepts, and an open second-story view to the dance-floor below. The venue will be able to accommodate more than 1,200 guests and plans to feature all genres of acts.

EEG owns a collection of dining and nightlife spots throughout the Valley including The Mint, Hi Fi Kitchen and Cocktails, and both locations of Sandbar. Axis-Radius closed on June 29, at which time Jeff O'Neil, operations manager for EEG, said the company felt they needed to changing things up."
